Snowy White (Thin Lizzy) Miniature Guitar Replica
Snowy White (Pink Floyd): Miniature Guitar.
Terence Charles 'Snowy' White was born on March 3rd 1948 in Barnstaple, Devon. He grew up on the Isle Of Wight and was a self-taught guitar player having been given his first guitar for his 10th birthday by his parents. In 1965, at the age of 17, he moved to Stockholm and spent a year or more playing with a trio called The Train.
It was while he was in Sweden in 1968 that White purchased what would become his signature guitar. By 1970 he had returned to England and was making his living in London as a session musician. It was at this time that he met Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac and they began what would be a lifelong friendship.
Snowy White has had a career-long association with Pink Floyd which began in 1977 when he was asked to be the second guitarist on the band's Animals tour. He has also been a permanent member of Roger Water's touring band since 1990 featuring on every tour to date.
While he was in the middle of rehearsals with Pink Floyd in 1979 for their upcoming The Wall tour, he was asked to join Thin Lizzy by their guitar player Scott Gorham. White remained with Lizzy until 1982, touring, recording and co-writing their Chinatown and Renegade albums.
In 1983 Snowy White had his only solo chart success with the Peter Green inspired song Bird Of Paradise. This song awakened a whole new generation of listeners to White's understated and tasteful guitar talents, and was the perfect showcase for his beloved guitar.
